One by One

Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary is committed to Saving Animals One by One.

We firmly believe in the profound impact of each individual rescue, contributing to our larger mission of the conservation of endangered species, preservation of our natural ecosystems, and improving the welfare of each creature we are entrusted to care for.

Our Legacy.

In 1995, the Tiger Missing Link Foundation was established in Ohio to document tigers in captivity outside accredited zoos. Genetic testing of its first tiger revealed a rare Indochinese tiger, challenging the notion of privately held tigers as congenitally defective, and instead, highlighting their genetic diversity, and their importance to the continued conservation of the species.

In response to the exotic pet market boom of the late 1980s and 1990s, the founder's family established Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge in 1997. Living off the grid, they cleared land, built enclosures, and cared for tigers with volunteer help. Despite financial constraints, Tiger Creek expanded its facilities and gained global support, enhancing visitor experiences and tiger conservation efforts.

In 2017, the sanctuary rebranded as Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary to accommodate a diverse range of animals, continuing its mission to rescue and protect endangered and threatened species.

Our Team.

"In the end, we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught." - Baba Dioum

This quote beautifully encapsulates the ethos of our team dedicated to saving animals, preserving our land, and emphasizing the importance of knowledge, understanding, and love in our shared conservation efforts.
