The tiger is the largest cat in the world, and Skanda left a large impression on all who had the pleasure to meet him. He is sorely missed by his Tiger Creek caretakers who remember and extol his adored uniqueness. He was the first tiger to exuberantly greet the meal wagon every morning, which made us smile and share in his enthusiasm. He held the honor of being the first to be fed (he could also be a bit grumpy if he wasn't served quickly enough).
Skanda held the distinction of being the only tiger who would welcome visitors with a growl. Sometimes he would play peekaboo with guests while hiding behind his pool, and occasionally tried to claim them as his by lifting his tail and spraying in their direction.
It is not at all easy for us to say goodbye to such a large personality, but his presence lingers in our hearts as we celebrate the life of Skanda.
